The resource is aimed at 14-19 year olds and suitable for students, young club members or anyone wishing to develop their leadership skills through coaching, refereeing and organising community volleyball activity. The resource has been developed with the aim of providing potential young leaders with a basic knowledge of volleyball, and developing the skills and confidence to introduce and develop aspects of the game safely.
Course Details
The Volleyball Young Leaders Award is a 6-hour program designed to be used by clubs, schools and youth groups.
It can be delivered by any PE Teacher or Level 2 Coach using the Tutor Resource Pack. This easy-to-follow resource plans your sessions for you, is national curriculum friendly and can be delivered in one go or as part of PE lesson time.
Course Delivery Options
There is a one off cost for the Tutor Resource Pack, which can then be used to deliver an unlimited number of Young Leaders courses.
The Resource includes:
- Tutor delivery notes
- Learner Task Cards to support independent learning
What will participants learn?
By the end of the program the Volleyball Young Leaders will be able to:
- Lead a volleyball-specific warm up.
- Organise a volleyball festival.
- Referee small sided games.
- Lead simple volleyball practices.
- Help to keep everyone safe
