Lycett and Ruddick to represent England at U22s in Austria

Tom Lycett and George Ruddick have been competing with each other this year at multiple events with the pair playing in Norway at the NEVZA Zonal Tour event at Oddane Sand and then a week later playing in Bridlington. 

George Ruddick also competed at the BUCS Beach Championships, pairing with fellow University of Nottingham athlete Niall Peters. The duo delivered a strong performance, finishing second in the Men’s Shield, winning in the final against another Nottingham pairing, further highlighting the depth of talent at the university.

As well as at university level, the pair competed in the UKBT Club Championships for Richmond, where they lost out in the quarter-finals. 

The tournament will take place from 14th to 17th August 2025 at the picturesque Strandbad in Baden, Austria. Baden is hosting the event for the third time (previously in 2017 and 2021).

With a balance of international exposure and consistent domestic play, Lycett and Ruddick head to Baden well-prepared and motivated to make an impact among Europe’s elite U22 teams.
