Volleyball England Chair recruitment

Volleyball England Chair recruitment

Volleyball England is seeking to appoint a new Chair of the Board to oversee the continued  development, promotion and delivery of volleyball, sitting volleyball and beach volleyball across England.

The successful candidate will succeed Adam Walker at July’s Annual General Meeting, following his completion of the maximum term of eight years’ service.

Volleyball England’s vision is to ensure that everyone in the sport feels a sense of belonging by connecting the sport at all levels and leveraging its strengths.

To do this, the organisation has adopted five core guiding principles in pursuit of fulfilling its strategic priorities, with people, as well as diversity and inclusion, at the heart of every decision made.

The new Chair will play a pivotal role by heading up a board of 12 volunteer directors who will help to continue to implement Volleyball England’s ambitious 10-year strategy, which prioritises working collaboratively with clubs and members.

The role is an independent position and is open to applications from both those within volleyball’s communities (including those who are Volleyball England members) and those from outside of the sport.

For the past eight years, I have been incredibly privileged to serve as Chair of Volleyball England,” said Walker, reflecting on his time in post.

I have had the opportunity to work with many wonderful staff members, incredibly dedicated board members, and inspirational volunteers. I have enjoyed many rewarding moments and made lifelong friends, for which I am incredibly grateful.

In our next Chair, I believe the sport requires someone with significant insight and understanding of the ever-changing landscape of sport, both domestically and internationally.

More than ever, sports organisations are being challenged to transform and diversify their offerings and services to remain relevant to their members.

A forward-thinking and resilient leader is required to ensure that our ambitious goals within the Game Plan strategy are realised by 2030.

Applications should be submitted no later than Sunday 27th April 2025, along with the completion of the Equalities Monitoring Form (accessed through the Recruitment Pack).
