Student Cup 2024-25 to get underway in Ashcombe
A total of 96 teams have entered this season’s competition with the first set of qualifying matches being contested at Ashcombe Volleyball Centre.
Next weekend (16th and 17th November), the second set of qualifying fixtures take place on at Ashcombe (Saturday) and in Leeds (both days),
The final weekend of qualifiers is set for the 23rd and 24th November, with matches scheduled on both Saturday and Sunday at the National Volleyball Centre in Kettering.
From those qualifiers, 13 teams from each gender will advance to the finals, which will be staged at the University of East Anglia, Norwich on 8th and 9th February where they will compete for the title of Student Cup Champions.
The other three places will be allocated to Student Sport Ireland’s champions and the winners and runners-up from the Student Cup 2023-24.
Last season's competition saw UCL defeat Trinity College in straight sets in the women’s final, securing the championship for the second consecutive year.
Imperial College London (ICL) won the men’s competition, triumphing with a 2-1 win in a thrilling match against UCL.
All four will have automatic passage to the 2025 finals along with the seven group winners and the six next-placed teams with the best records.
